Maths Week 2020

Learning the card game 25!

Maths Week 2020

6th class students enjoyed an array of activities during Maths Week 2020 which included learning card games, playing maths themed board games, learning maths magic tricks and completing maths trails.

Well done to the 6th class students who completed a Maths trail which was kindly sent to us from The Tipperary Museum of Hidden History. This trail was embedded with local history and featured an array of mathematical equations and tested the student's problem-solving abilities.

Our Juniors & Senior Infants and 1st Class wrote Halloween Cards to the residents of Greenhill Nursing Home.

Thanks to An Post we can send these (with some treats!), free of charge, We're in this together!

We would like to wish Antoinette Hogan all the very best in her retirement. She stepped down as our school cleaner at the end of August. Our Board of Management wanted to acknowledge Antoinette's hard work and service to Rathgormack NS with a card and a gift and her grand nephew Billy presnted her with a bunch of flowers.

We would like to welcome  Bridget Hogan, our new school cleaner, to the team in Rathgormack NS also.

Virtual Tour of the School

Our new extension and renovation is now complete, unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we can't host an open day for people to call in.
We want to say thankyou to everyone who made this possible through their hard work and donations.
It was fantastic to see so many past pupils and locals working on the project. We want to say a special thankyou to Eoin Hunt and his team at Clodagh Construction and all of the contractors, suppliers and the design team for their time and effort to complete the works by September despite these challenging times.
We have created a virtual 360 tour of the new works (thanks to Francis Quigley), and we would love you to have a look around.

Dear parents / community members,

Under normal circumstances, we would love to invite you in to see our new extension and our upgraded facilities but due to Covid 19, we have to restrict visitors to our school. Therefore I have taken photographs for you to view below.

We are delighted with our new classroom and resource rooms, and the extra space in the two offices and staffroom couldn’t have come at a better time.

I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all parents and community members who have supported our building fund so generously. We could not have completed the work if it were not for your contributions. We have one or two projects which we would like to finish e.g a canopy over the front door, and lots of final touches inside the new extension.

Huge thanks to Eoin Hunt of Clodagh Construction and his team for managing to complete the build on time, despite losing over seven weeks on site due to Covid 19, on what was already an exceptionally tight timeline. We know Clodagh Construction put in evenings and weekends over the last few month to have the school ready for us all by September 1st.

Kind regards,

Cathy Power
